Broadband Customers Continue to Be Let Down By Big Internet Providers: Make a Better Choice – Switch to Air Broadband Today To Avoid Unexpected Price Hikes

It’s time to check your postcode to see if you can make the switch to Air Broadband because if you’re with one of the big four internet service providers like BT, TalkTalk, Sky or Virgin,  your monthly bills are due to increase by a record-breaking amount this week. As if that’s not bad enough, if you’re still within the minimum term of your contract with BT, Sky, TalkTalk or Virgin then you won’t be able to leave without paying penalties or renegotiating your monthly payments.

The UK inflation rate announcement back in January has since been met with alarm from many money saving and price comparison websites. The inflation rate, as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), is seeing a drastic increase to 6.2% – a record-breaking 30-year high.

You don’t need to settle for this raid on your hard earned income – switch to Air Broadband instead. We never surprise our customers with unexpected price rises and we have a ‘no in-contract price rise’ policy

We understand that as inflation rises, prices do too – but customers deserve to know about this well in advance. However, we don’t agree with unexpected price rises, especially when you’re already in-contract. Your broadband provider should treat you better than that.

What can you do about it?

You may have been advised that there’s nothing you can do about it; your provider may have written to you and said this is the best detail in their fine print (squint hard, it’s at the bottom of the email), but there is.

What you can do is check your contract today and make the switch to better broadband with a new generation of provider – one that can offer better broadband speeds, better reliability and amazing customer service who actually answer the phone (!) without any unnecessary and unexpected in-contract price rises at a time when we know the pinch is hurting households most.

What other providers are saying about their upcoming broadband price rises

When asked about Thursday’s upcoming price rise back in January, BT Managing Director of Consumer Customer Services Nick Lane told ISPreview

“Price rises are never popular, but are sometimes a necessary part of business, if we’re to keep up with the rising costs we face and ensure we can continue to deliver a brilliant network experience as customers’ usage of data grows month on month.”

TalkTalk have also confirmed their 9.1% price increase for 2022. And because it’s an annual hike which is included in TalkTalk’s T&Cs, customers weren’t specifically notified by their provider about it.

Sky confirmed back in February that their prices would be increasing too. Although they don’t include annual price increases in line with inflation in its T&Cs. Which means you might be able to leave your contract early and switch Air without paying any potential cancellation fees.

It’s never been a better time to switch to Air Broadband

Inflation is here whether we want it or not. Driven by war, Covid and large government borrowing, inflation is unfortunately a pain of the drastic events of our times. However, we don’t agree that price hikes are necessary and that the consumer has to blindly swallow these costs. Especially at a time when the cost of living is increasing.

BT announced £1,804 million in profits last year and despite renewed Sky shareholder confidence Sky customers will see their bills increase by up to £6 a month (£72 a year). These businesses work to keep their shareholders happy while yet continue to punish their customers and betray their trust.

Many homes and businesses are struggling to get back on their feet after the last two years – we think they deserve better broadband and better service, not unexpected price rises or higher bills.

It’s time to make a change, it’s time to tell the large providers we will not be ignored and crippled by unexpected cost increases on the most basic of human utilities, the need to connect. We believe this is the time to build the broadband revolution and say, “No, I do not want to pay more for less”.

Switch today and tell them you don’t have to take the pain. The choice is yours.

We don’t surprise our customers with in-contract price hikes. Don’t settle for less, you deserve better broadband.
