Air Support: Air Launches New Social Tariff Scheme

Air Broadband is proud to announce the launch of a social tariff broadband service, called Air Support.

We pride ourselves on genuinely caring about our customers and putting their best interests at the heart of everything we do, which is why this feels like such a natural next step for us. We recognise that the current cost-of-living crisis is having a severe impact on households all across the UK, above all on the 18% of UK residents who rely on benefits such as Universal Credit.

And with many people looking to mitigate the crisis by making savings on their broadband, it is clear to us that with many broadband suppliers, people are simply paying too much for internet access. Internet access is essential to homes and businesses across the UK, and many people need support with essential services during this critical time.

From today, the Air Support package will be priced at £20 per month with a download/upload speed of 100Mbps – well above the UK average of 66Mbps download and 15Mbps upload – and is subject to our policy of no in-contract price rises. Air Support contracts last 12 months to provide customers with flexibility in these uncertain times. To qualify for the Air Support package, customers will be required to provide us with a Proof of Benefits letter to confirm their eligibility.

The significantly reduced price internet access service will be available in many towns across the UK including Hull, Gloucester, Solihull, Nottingham, Derby, Bury St Edmunds and Lowestoft to name a few. Those interested can check out our handy postcode checker to find out if they have access to this service, and existing Air customers who are eligible can switch to this new social tariff free of charge

Andrew Glover, CEO of Air Broadband, said:

“We feel that a reliable, fast, always-on broadband connection is something everyone should have access to – and connectivity is crucial for many vulnerable people to empower themselves and improve their situation. We have worked with many broadband providers to help establish this service and recent calls by the UK government to do more to support homes in the UK have been heard. And so to help those who need it most during these difficult times, we launched the Air Support service.”

With one in five people in the UK currently struggling to pay their broadband bill, the time is now to put people before profit and help to make sure that no one is left behind. If you’re part of that one in five, get in touch today and let’s find out what we can do for you.

The Air Support 100Mbps upload and download broadband service, priced at £20 per month is now available on all product pages. Check your postcode in our postcode checker or to find out more, call us on 01223 606 828 or send an email to
